Ringing in the 13th annual GIRAF fest with a ritual.

Every November, Calgary gets weird with 4 days of independent animation from all over the world. Shorts packs, independent features, and student films all screen in front of eager audiences.

Writhing arms operate a mysterious machine in an electrical summoning ritual.

Coinciding with the festival branding, I animated a film to play before all screenings of the festival. We wanted to get a little superstitious for the 13th year, so I incorporated runes and other magic symbols in the machine: we cast a spell every screening.
